The Suzanne Feetham Nurse Scientist Family Research Award

Each applicant/nominee for the Suzanne Feetham Nurse Scientist Family Research Award, given annually by the Eastern Nursing Research Society, must be an active member of the ENRS who has:

• An earned doctorate and post-doctoral research.
• Made outstanding contributions to the understanding of: families in health and illness; family functioning; and/or family structure.
• Contributed to the development and testing of interventions that improve family functioning.
• Completed research and scholarship that informs practice and education so that the circumstances and situations of families may be improved.
• Provided information that can inform health care policy to improve the health of families.
• Demonstrated leadership in research of families (e.g., mentoring, leadership through family research RIG; etc.).

The Suzanne Feetham Nurse Scientist Family Research Award will be presented annually to a nurse researcher whose program of research and scholarship focuses on the study of family and family related research. It is anticipated that this award will recognize family research in its broadest context such as research relevant to individuals, families and their communities, health systems, the environment as well as social and health care policy.

The Suzanne Feetham Nurse Scientist Family Research Award is given annually to either a senior or a junior investigator (7 years or less post-doc) depending on the nominations.
