John A. Hartford Geriatric Research Award

Each Nominee for the John A. Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing Practice Research Award, given annually by the Eastern Nursing Research Society, must be a member of ENRS who has:

  • Evidence of outstanding contributions to nursing research directed toward the older adult population.
  • Record of publications emanating from the program of research.
  • Record of research-related activities.

The John A. Hartford Geriatric Research Award is given annually to either a senior or a junior investigator (7 years or less post-doc) depending on the nominations. Also, self nominations are allowed but require the same information below.

The following supporting documentation is required to demonstrate eligibility for the award:

  • Statements from the nominator and two other references that make the case for the nominee’s major contributions and why these are important. Include information on the nominee’s current research involvement in the statements. (Three [3] statements to be submitted.)
  • Nominee’s up-to-date curriculum vitae—make sure it clearly, accurately, and completely documents research contributions and current research activities.
  • Reprints or copies of three (3) representative data-based publications.
  • Completed nomination cover form and checklist. (Also available in PDF format).
  • Deadline February 1, 2008.
