Positioning Yourself for Funding Success as an Early Career Nurse Scientist
Thursday, April 162026 at 1:00 pm

This webinar brings together research scientists from both industry and academia to share practical insights on how early-career nurse scientists can successfully position themselves for competitive research funding. Speakers will discuss strategies for identifying the right funding opportunities, strengthening grant applications, building interdisciplinary collaborations, and developing a clear research program that aligns with national funding priorities. The session will also highlight common challenges faced by emerging investigators and provide actionable guidance on navigating mentorship, career development awards, and long-term funding pathways.

Participants will gain a clearer understanding of how to translate research ideas into fundable proposals, enhance scientific impact, and sustain a successful research trajectory across clinical, community, and translational settings.

Learning objectives include:

- Identifying key funding mechanisms available to early-career nurse scientists in academic and industry settings

- Applying effective strategies to strengthen grant writing, proposal development, and reviewer responsiveness

- Building collaborative research networks and mentorship structures that support funding success

A Patient Centered Approach to the Case Study
Monday, May 11, 2026 at 10:00 am

The aim of this work was to revolutionize the case study paradigm and deconstruct the traditional case study approach, placing the patient, instead of the disease, at the center of the narrative. This embedded case study design intercalates the clinicians’ presentation of the case with the patients and care partners’ narrative on the lived experience.

Speaker: Jean Sheerin Coffey PhD, APRN,CPNP,FAAN
Clinical Professor Elisabeth DeLuca School of Nursing, University of Connecticut
